![]() The server is running Mavericks and get a workflow aborted error about 3 mins into the capture with DeployStudio, Flash is still updated on 10.6.8 yet, but that I'm sure has it's days numbered.Īm looking at upgrading our 30 or so Mac's to Yosemite but am having problems capturing a Yosemite image with DeployStudio on our Mac mini server. Apple isn't going to orphan out 10.8 that soon are they ? I still love my 10.7.x MBP that is surgically attached to my hip, but I realize JAVA has already left me behind, but the average user doesn't even use JAVA unless you have special software that uses it. 10.10.x is a dog on anything less than the latest and 8 gig of ram. If you have other questions doing it the Disk Utility way don't be afraid to ask.Īnd while I'm on this rant my experience is that unless you have the "latest and greatest" hardware with 8 gig or ram WHY WHY WHY upgrade if you are already on 10.8.x or or even 10.9 and everything is running Peachy. By the way if you are doing a lot of imaging it pays BIG TIME to have DS on one box and the images on a different box. I never make my workstation images the "DS way." Make it easy on yourself and target boot the client onto another like computer with either a lightning cable or 800 to 800 Firewire cable and make your image with Disk Utility and then Scan the image for Restore with Disk Utility and you are py it to the server and make a workflow for it. We select the default NetBoot image that DS uses with either 10.6.x or 10.8.x or 10.10.x image depending on what we are trying to boot. My DS Server is a 5 plus year old Xserve running Server 10.6.8. I started with a new company and they want to bring their IT Infrastructure back in house from the MSP they are using.I'm sorry guys but you make this a LOT harder than it actually is.
